Winter 2023 Newsletter: Art Show, Sake Dinner & Taiko Seminar

2023 Zen Art Show & Sale

Chozen-ji's Annual Zen Art Show and Sale was held November 3-5 this year, and featured art works by a new generation of artists training at Chozen-ji.

Students who displayed work included Michael Kangen, Cristina Moon, Geraldine Abergas, Chris Sybico, Andrew Ching, Li Nishimura, Kana Ogawa, Eric Birkeland, and Lynn Lethin.

Several of the calligraphy students produced scrolls for the first time and ceramics students sold work reflecting their training under Takashi Nakazato Sensei, a 14th generation master ceramicist in the Karatsu-yaki tradition.

Many students and teachers volunteered to prepare the Dojo and conduct demonstrations. Mahalo to everyone for your help!
