Intensive Live-In Training at Chozen-ji

Chozen-ji is offering two three-week live-in periods in 2019 for longtime and beginning students who want to train deeply in Zen: April 7-27 and September 1-21.

Intensive Live-In Training gives students the opportunity to experience the rhythm of daily Dojo life—waking up early for morning zazen and training, and ending each day with an hour and a half of zazen, and martial and fine arts classes. Students will build strength and sensitivity, as well as the ability to "step off the propeller blade" that keeps us from acting intuitively, decisively and effectively in our lives.

Intensive Live-in Training at Chozen-ji

After many inquiries about how to go deep into self transformation through Zen training, Chozen-ji will offer two three-week live-in periods in 2019 for longtime and beginning students: April 7-27 and September 1-21.

All participants must receive approval to Chozen-ji prior to arrival. Read on for more information and how to request to join.

Twenty-one days has historically been understood to be the minimum amount of time needed to shift deep seated habits. This Intensive Live-In Training—which can vary in length from seven to twenty-one days—will give students the opportunity to build strength and sensitivity, as well as the ability to "get off the propeller blade" that keeps us from acting intuitively, decisively and effectively in our lives.
