Dojo’s First Children’s Book Now Available

Why Is the Sky Blue?: A Zen Book for Children, the first children’s book produced by Chozen-ji, is finally available. The eBook, written by Bunko (Diane Yen-Mei) Wong Roshi, is available through Amazon.com. At a cost of only $5.00, the book starts off with a simple question that children often ask, “Why is the sky blue?” It then goes on to look at the question from a Zen perspective, taking children (and adults) along a path that has them looking at color, music and the nature of apple pie. This eBook also features colorful whimsical watercolor illustrations by artist Erin Shigaki.

Why is the Sky Blue? is good not only for children, ages 8-12, but also for adults who want a clear introduction to the basics of Zen or who want to find a way to talk with children this topic in a fun way.

To order the book, simply go to Amazon.com and in the search field, type in “books.” Then type in the title.

Or, you can cut and paste this link into your browser:

Wong and Chozen-ji plan to produce probably two more Zen books for children.
